A class of mutual fund shares typically having a contingent deferred sales charge (CDSC), rather than a front-end load, and a distribution fee as well as other annual expenses that are normally higher than for class A shares, with the possible automatic conversion into class A shares after a certain holding period, often two years after the CDSD is eliminated.
