What is mid-ticket equipment leasing? What is big-ticket equipment leasing?

Suggestion/Report Error

Mid-ticket equipment includes low-volume, relatively high-price equipment with an original cost of $100,000-$500,000 according to DBRS and Fitch and $250,000-$5mn according to the ELFA.  Mid-ticket equipment includes such movable assets as graphic and printing machinery, mainframe computer systems and large servers, heavy trucks, larger construction and agricultural equipment and specialized commercial and industrial equipment.  The difference in cost range results in the classification of certain equipment as mid-ticket by ELFA that is classified as large-ticket equipment by the other organizations.

Big-ticket equipment involves equipment that costs in excess of $500,000 according to DBRS and Fitch and more than $5mn for such classification by ELFA.  The large-ticket equipment segment includes aircraft, ships, railcars, locomotives, industrial machinery and oil and gas equipment.  These transactions are often complex and involve cross-border leases, sale-leasebacks, syndication and securitization and generally require profound knowledge of the commercial, regulatory, tax and finance components of the transaction.
