semiannual bond
Noun
A bond that pays a fixed-rate of interest (coupon) twice a year (semiannually), including US Treasury notes and bonds as well as US municipal and corporate bonds, Canadian government bonds and UK gilts.
Comment:
Semiannual interest is conventionally quoted on a simple interest basis for half-years, using half-years to calculate interest for each period of six months.
